It means we undertook strict vetting by Trading Standards to ensure the way we run our business meets their high standards for customer service, product quality, and legal compliance.
The scheme also provides added reassurance for our customers, with an independent mediator available in case of disputes (although we work hard to make sure it never comes to that!).

HOW WE GOT HERE
Ravensby Firewood started as a husband-and-wife venture just over two years ago. In the beginning, we were both holding down very demanding full-time jobs while trying to build something from scratch. We often worked VERY late nights followed by VERY early mornings. It can be exhausting, chaotic, but it is worth every second.
Like many small businesses, our journey has been far from smooth. We have dealt with broken machinery, broken bodies, career shifts, and even a wee baby was thrown into the mix! There have been tough days, but we have always owned upto our mistakes "Pobody's Nerfect" after all & made things right when we dropped the ball (which luckily has not been too much!)
We have put everything into making Ravensby Firewood the best it can be, from improving both the quality of our kiln-dried logs and the service behind them, to the easy order process.
We are always listening and some of our biggest improvements came directly from customer feedback:
- ✅ We now clean and screen every load of logs twice for improved burn quality.
- ✅ We expanded delivery to the Scottish Islands, including Shetlands, Lewis & Harris and Orkney.
- ✅ We introduced a “choose your delivery day” calendar for local Bulk-Bags and have recently extended this to our loose-tipped deliveries.
It is our customers who have helped shape the business, and we joined Trusted Trader to show we are committed to continuing to improve wherever we can, with our goal to deliver the best possible firewood & service we possibly can, at a realistic price.
